Grants and Sponsorship
Council offers an extensive range of grants and funding opportunities to assist the community with a diverse variety of programs, projects and activities.
These include Community Development Grants and Community Arts Grants that enable community groups and organisations to participate in the community and cultural life of the city. A Special Opportunity Grant is available to assist residents who are practising and/or emerging artists to advance their skills and career development. Sports Grants support and encourage participation in sports activities by young people. Grant funds are also available to directly assist residents in the pursuit of excellence in sport, music, drama and associated fields. This assistance is provided by way of a sponsorship where the resident has to travel outside South Australia to compete at national or international competitions.
Council has also established a Local Heritage Grants Scheme to assist residents who own heritage listed properties with building conservation projects.
Through the Events Sponsorship Program, Council supports and encourages festivals, events and activities that provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to come together and celebrate what makes our city unique.
Funding and eligibility criteria apply to all Council's Grant programs.
Grants and funding opportunities are also available from State and Federal Government Departments and from philanthropic organisations. Click here to learn more about other grants opportunities.
Council staff can assist individuals and community groups to identify funding sources that may meet their needs and provide advice in completing grant application forms.
