Light Globes

Light globes can be taken to the following locations for recycling

Wide range of globes accepted including flurouscent lamps and tubes, halogen lamps, tubes, bulbs and incandescent globes (excludes commercial quantities). It maybe advisable to call before taking globes to any of the above locations, if the evet of any issues please let us know by emailing customer.service@portenf.sa.gov.au 


There are more than 85 locations across South Australia where used oil can be taken to be recycled. Oil needs to be taken in a clean plastic container with a lid (original container is ideal). Avoid using paint cans or non plastic containers. Please refer to the "ZeroWaste SA" website to search for nearby locations to recycle oil.

Soft Plastic Recycling

Plastic bags and other soft plastics can be recycled at the following Coles:

Residents and painters can dispose of paint free of charge at Paintback sites. There are 2 sites currently in SA. Maximums: 100 litres per visit and 20 litre containers.

Dry paint  can go in the blue lid general waste bin. Paint can be dried by leaving the lid off or with a paint hardener available for purchase from hardware stores. Tap dry paint into the general waste bin and recycle the empty tin in the yellow lid bin.

Many batteries contain heavy metals and harmful elements such as nickel, cadmium, lead and mercury. Please refer to the "ZeroWaste SA" website to search for nearby locations to recycle batteries.

Printer Cartridges

Printer cartridges can be recycled via collection boxes located at all Officeworks and JB HiFi stores, and participating Australia Post, Harvey Norman, Good Guys and Office National outlets.
