Parks Review
In September 2010, the State Government notified Council that it would no longer provide funding to operate and manage the Parks and that the Council- run services at the Parks Community Centre would cease on or before 18 March 2011. Subsequent communication between Council and the State Government secured further funding for Council services at the Parks until 30 September, 2011. During late 2010, a review of the programs and facilities was conducted by Monsignor David Cappo on behalf of the State Government. Groups and individuals were invited to contribute to this consultation.
A report about the future of the Parks was released by the Social Inclusion Unit on Thursday 23 June, 2011.

The Centre will continue to offer a range of exciting events, workshops and classes during 2012. However, part of the outdoor pool structure will not be able to be used this Summer due to the deterioration of the internal supports. The upper level of the pool will be filled in before Christmas to ensure that the facility remains safe for all patrons. The indoor pool, toddler and lower level pool will stay open as usual for families to enjoy.
