Inclusive futsal at Lefevre uses power of sport to change lives
Inclusive Futsal at Lefevre Community Stadium uses the power of sport to change the lives of young people living with intellectual disabilities. The program recently received assistance through a $1000 grant from Council through our Small Grants Program.
Lachlan is 13 years old and plays most weeks. He said, "Every Friday I look forward to meeting my friends and playing Fulsal. I have learnt new skills and can now score a goal almost every game!".
Disability Football Director Igor Negrao said, "One Culture Football is proud to make a positive impact in the community of Port Adelaide Enfield through the game of Futsal. The support from the council has been vital to maintain the quality of this program which gives people living with a disability the opportunity to have fun and live an active lifestyle."
Everybody aged 13+ is welcome to come along and participate every Friday night, 6:30-8pm at Lefevre Community Stadium. Participants have a varying range of disabilities including intellectual, autism and integration.
