OPAL
OPAL is a community-based healthy lifestyle program which is all about helping you and your family to eat well, and find fun ways to be active within your community.
Children and adults who are active and enjoy eating nutritious foods are more likely to lead a healthy life, and experience fewer health problems in the future.
Encouraging your child/ren to participate in sports, indoor and outdoor activities or just playing in local parks are all fantastic ways in which your children can develop social skills, improve their confidence and maintain fitness.
Including a variety of fruit and vegetables in your family meals and snacks is very important, as it ensures your children get the right type of energy and nutrients they need to build strong and healthy minds and bodies.
OPAL will be working within the Inner Northern suburbs of the Port Adelaide Enfield Council. We will be working in partnership with Port Adelaide Enfield Council, community groups, childcare centres, kindergartens, schools, health care services, social services, local businesses and people like you to find out what your community needs in order to eat well and be active.
Every twelve months look out for a new fun and interactive OPAL theme being launched in your community. We will be basing our activities around this theme, and there will be opportunities for everyone to participate. Check out the theme for this year - Make it a fresh snack!
